2000 explorer running lean

my girlfriends explorer engine light came on. ran the codes and turned up running lean. is there anything i can do to get the fuel mixture back to its optimum ratio? thanks

I would suspect a vacuum leak. If it's the intake style I'm thinking that looks kinda like a Y, then it's probably the o-rings between the upper intake and the intake manifold. If that's the case, the dealer should know exactly the parts you need because they've done a million of them. Good luck with it.

Like upper post says check for vacume leaks.
One clue to vacume leak is a cold idle problem.
What engine and what were the code no.?
Other things to check is fuel filter and fuel pressure.
Also MAF sensor and Baro readings.
Clean the Maf sensor with electrical cleaner and see if that helps. Also check for air leaks in the air intake/air filter hoses.
And last but not least check coolant tempt. sensor.
