Automatic locks

I have a 94 J30t and the other day the locks on the driver side door stopped working. Actually what is happening is that the door will not unlock via the fob, internal switches or the key. I can not get the driver side door to open at all but the other doors open when the internal lever is moved to unlocked. Since I can't get the door to open I can't remove the panel to get to the mechanisms. I did try opening it like a thief and actually had a mechanic try to open the door with no success.

Has anyone ever had this problem and is there a way to disconnect the automatic locks? I am getting a little tired of climbing over to the passenger side to get in and out of the car!

Thanks in advance for you help,
Ron

now if i'm correct, the relay that works with the door locks is behind the bezel behind your steering column.... it may not just be that thought that is causing your door not to open. you will prolly have to replace the latch assembly (i bought one from the dealer for 60 something with a 1 year warranty) the relay will be needed too because of it's importance with keeping doors opened or closed.

I have the same issue but it's the passenger door. It's been broken for almost a year now and no one can get it open. To top it all off, my tranny just went out at 150K!!

ooooh a tranny genious i am not.....

I told myself when my tranny goes or my engine goes, the car goes....

The door though shouldn't be too hard, eventually (if i'm correct) the switch that activates the lock will flip and u'll have a chance to open it.... take that chance and fix it then. the J30 is known for it's posessed internals.
