hello everyone, just purchase a remote offline however i'm not having any luck programming it any suggestions? the make and model is a 98 infinti qx4

a 98 QX4 should be the same as a 98 Pathfinder:
Nissan Pathfinder programming instructions
NOTE: (you may need to reset your alarm for the programming to work. Get in the car, lock the doors with the key and wait for the alarm to set. Then open a back door by unlocking it from the inside. This will sound the alarm. Turn it off by turning the key to unlock the door. Open drivers door. Now, you can use the regular programming instructions to reset your factory alarm and they will work)
Close and lock all doors. Erase original ID codes(s) by inserting and removing key from ignition switch more than 6 times within 10 seconds. Hazard warning lights should flash twice.
Turn ignition switch to ACC position. Puch lock button on new remote control once. Hazard warning lights should flash twice, indicating ID code for new remote control has been entered.
To enter additional remote control ID code(s), unlock driver's door and then lock it using door lock knob. Press lock button on new remote control once to enter ID code.
A maximum of 4 remote control ID codes can be entered. If same ID code is entered more than once, the entry is ignored even though hazard warning lights will still flash twice. TO exit programing (ID entry) mode, open driver's door.
