Issues with new 05 OR X

Hi everyone. A new 2005 X owner here for the past 4 days. I have a question about the performace of the 6MT OR.
When I first start the X it idles around 800-900 RPMS, and the oil pressure gauge is in the middle of the gauge (supposedly the higher RPMS at start are to heat up the catalytic converter). But I notice as I drive the vehicle around a bit the idle at stop is around 500 RPMS, and the oil pressure gauge dips to around a 1/4 of the way in the gauge. As I try to release the clutch to start moving the RPMS plunge, and the oil pressure gauge plunges as well. I start to get a stall on the vehicle. I have to quickly rev the engine using the gas peddle to get the RPMS up, as well as the oil pressure gauge to prevent a stall. Well, this just sucks when you are on a hill and a car is in front and behind you.
I had a 6MT Wrangler. I never had this problem until I had 155,000 miles on it. My Jeep Oil gauge would be very low at idle. The same issue would happen above. I figured it was due to age of the vehicle, or maybe I had a leak in the head gasket.
Is anyone getting the same problem?
Also, when I first test drove my 2005 OR X my initial thoughts about the air conditioning unit was that it was weak. Now that I own it I definitely think it's weak. Any one else think this?
I have the AC cranked to MAX, #4 air flow setting, air circulation set to on. The air coming out is okay, but not what I would think it should be. I would have thought the air would be freezing. I would be able to turn the temp down to modulate the temp. Instead I have to always keep it on Max with the air speed cranked to get any decent cooling. I am disappointed. I will check with Nissan to see if there is an issue with my air cond unit.
After some searching it seems Titan/Armada trucks are having some issues with their A/C.

Here's Armada people complaining about A/C performance:

Here's a TSB describing the issue and fix:

It seems that the A/C compressor shuts off at idle and low RPMS. I noticed that at a stop the air is much warmer. The fix entails replacing a fan, and reprogramming the EMC unit to make the Armada idle at a higher RPM. This fix would also help with my low RPM/stall issue. On another forum people stated that Nissan needs to idle lower because of emissions laws/regulations. Any thoughts?
Maybe I'll bring this along with me when I discuss the issue with Nissan Service.

Hello,
I too have an 05 OR X 6MT and have not experienced your problems. True the truck does idle high when you start it, but the same thing happens on my wifes Honda CRV.
As for almost stalling when letting out the clutch from a stand still I have not noticed any issues. The truck does Idle around 500 RPM, but I have had no issues with stalking that was not driver error.
As for the A/C I have no complaints. I guess it depends where you live. Here in the NYC area it has been quite hot and humid, but I did not notice any difference b/w my last car.
If you are having problems go back to the dealer. They should be able to assist you.
Good luck

Hi there,
I have the same truck as you both, and my oil gauge behaves the same way as yours, it is normal. This engine has mechanickly driven oil pump, which means that as lower RPM it produces lower pressure, at higher RPM higher. By the way A/C compressor would act the same way therefore it is not going to cool as much at idle as going 70mph. I try to keep RPM at around 1250 and up when I start moving by adding some gas-pedal action.
The throtle position servo-motor makes funny noise, something like electric drill. It is drive by wire sistem, no cable. Though, I'm not sure that it is more reliable, but we have to live with it.

Well I'm taking it service this coming Monday. I originally called my local Nissan dealer (O'Niel Nissan in Warminster, PA), and the guy on the phone denied me service. He told me that it was Nissan's policy that under 1,000 mile vehicles the owner has to go back to the original place they purchased it to get service. I bought the X 26 miles away. I called 1-800-NISSAN1 to complain. Nissan did get back to me, and actually looked into this for me promptly. I ended up calling the Service Manager, who begrudgingly gave me an appointment. What the F! Is this how Nissan dealers treat their customers?
Though the Service Manager listened to my issues I could tell he was saying, "This guys a quack." We will see what they say.
It's funny to notice something about the A/C, and then find out it was actually a problem on the Armada. And Nissan fixed it even though they were denying there was a problem. Also, the fix for the Armada A/C issues would also fix my low idling RPM issue. They ramped the Armada RPMS up to 1,100 at idle. Seems a little extreme, though I had a Jeep Wrangler that idled at 1,000 RPMS. I think they have such a low idle for ULEV requirements. I would just like Nissan to reprogram my idle to 800-900 RPMS. It seems that is where it is upon initial start up. No issues with stall while letting out the clutch.
I'll post any news.

No, it's how THAT dealer treats its customers. They sell Buick and GMC too right?
Why people think it's a corporate attitude is beyond me...

I said "Nissan dealers" not Nissan Corp. In fact I was pleasantly surprised how well and cordial Nissan Corp. was with this situation. They had a rep call the Service Manager at O'Niels to verify they are going to see me. They then called me back to confirm this. I'm hoping that Nissan tries to maintain good customer dealer relations. Otherwise, Nissan Corp. will lose customers.
Again, hoping this dealer works out, and I'm pleasantly happy for years to come. I will then become a loyal Nissan customer.

As far as the AC issue, There is a recirculate button on the dash, in times where ou are in traffic or at low idle speeds, push in that button and the AC will re-cool the cool air instead of the hot air outside the vehicle. It will also return all the weed you smoke back into the vehicle for that extra high. Or, kean ep most of the skunk odor you just ran over OUTSIDE. You get the idea. ANd not all serious. Maybe I was joking about the weed. LOL
