E-Brake.... Help me Please!!!guado06 08-23-2005, 12:58 AM i have a 1993 Cavy and the E-brake doesnt really work, even if u pull it all the way to the top, it barely holds if any at all... i kno some people say that u dont need your ebrake in a 5spd but i would like to have it working because i dont like to leave it in gear every time i park.... btw i have almost no knowledge of the braking system, so if u could write it step by step.. i would really appreciate it... Thx for any help... 4dr92cavi4cyl 08-25-2005, 12:52 PM Remove one, or better, both of your rear wheels, then pull the drum off, you can see the brake shoe (pad) and it's condition. If your pad has less than 1/16 inch then it's probably time to change them. If they have more than 1/4 inch left, your e-brake cable is stretch and will need adjustment. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
