I have a 2000 X SE 4x4 3.3 6 cyl 5 sp Man tranny 105,000 miles.. There is something black leaking from or around my transfer case, Not thick by any means( Looks like oil to me seems a little far back for oil though). It is my understanding that if it was indeed coming from my transfer case it would be red and thicker. Is this correct?

Second I had the clutch replaced @ 77000 miles and master cylinder since then when it is hot outside my clutch pedal has about an inch of play before it engages the clutch... What is driving me nuts is this ONLY happens when it is hot out 80+ degrees. No problems nice firm pedal all winter long and when first get in the truck. Just when it is hot outside. I have taken it to the dealer they let it sit over night and can't reproduce the problem..... They adjusted the freeplay in the pedal and bled the lines......

Finally starting yesterday I can shift into 1st no problem take off and get a wicked vibration on the stick and if I hit 2500/3000 RPM it will pop out of gear with a loud clunk. all other gears are fine

I am ready to trough this thing in the bleepin trash but I owe to much on it to trade it in..

TIA

Hmm, the 1st-gear issue sounds a lot like the others that have had their transmissions die. Check out the discussions in the Xterra/Frontier sections at nissanoffroad.com for more info. Sounds like you may be needing a transmission soon...
