code P1492tg900 06-28-2005, 04:40 PM Does anyone have any idea what this code means? P1492 EVAP Canister Purge Control/Solenoid Valve (Circuit) (Nissan, Infiniti) and another description on the code reader said "aux. emission control" I bought new vacuum connectors, since i happened to take notice that one of them was melted through. I have no idea what else to do, since the check engine light comes back after I erase the code. And, i dont want to go to the dealer and have him charge me a large sum of money to tell me it was something i could do myself. Thanks in advance cjones7304 08-15-2005, 11:25 PM What year is it? If it's a recent Sentra, you have the evap canister on the back end of the car. Behind the bumper under the trunk, left hand side. There's a solenoid that has an electrical connector and.... three vaccum lines going to it. That's probably fubar. Replace it. Also, check the evap canister for physical damage. Then again, a big hole would give a code for Gross Evap Leak. ct91rs 08-17-2005, 12:32 PM Yep, I'd listen to cjones, the part's commonly called a purge solenoid vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
