can a fuel filter make a noise? could be intake...

I have this ratteling noise, low pitched, comes from passengerside of car. happend 2 days after installing injen intake. only happens in 1st and 2nd gear above 3500 rmps. happens in 3rd sometimes but goes in and out and quitet er. if i just lay on the gas the intake just roars, but it makes this weird nosie think think when doing just above granny accerlation.

any thoughts? someone told me to look at my fuel filter for some reason, its never been changed that i know of, 75k miles. i know i need it but what is this noise?
