Hey guys,
whenever i hit bumps the back of my truck squeeks. It kind sounds like a mouse. When i jump on the bumper it doesn't squeek so i don't think its my shocks but i'm not sure. It might also be my tailgate. It just really annoys me. Anybody have any ideas?

is the bed contacting the cab anyplace? also, it could be your springs. Have someone drive it in a safe area while you ride in back to see if you can isolate the sound. On my 99 s truck, my bed mounts rotted very quickly, and that was a pita until I figured it out.

Have hubcaps? take them off and see if it goes away. They can squeek if not on tight or if ears are worn.

I just thought of something else. Have you greased your hinges and strikers on your tailgate? if they are dry, they could be squeeking.

Lube your tailgate assembly.
Also, spray lube on your leaf springs and sway bar links if you have one.
And WD40 is NOT a friggin LUBE!

Your rear axle has leaf springs.
The sway bar is a thin bar running from one side to the other above the rear axle.
Use google to learn.

Anything BUT WD40.
Use a good quality spray lube with a little thickness to it. Rust spray is also good as well.
