Hi all, my GF has a 1994 J30 that is having intermittent starting problems. When it starts it runs great, but a few times (like now) it cranks-almost starts-and then nothing just keeps cranking.

I have checked for spark while cranking (ok) and fuel (not ok - no fuel just what was left in the line) as far as I can remember there is no noise from the tank area and has no other indications that the fuel pump itself was\is going out, I am pretty sure it is the fuel pump relay or something like that , anyone know where it is located on this car or if there is something else like a relay that could cause the non-starting? Thanks!

Hi all, my GF has a 1994 J30 that is having intermittent starting problems. ....!

Check out the fuses first. The fuel line goes stiff as fuel pressure is up, check. Pump starts as key is turned, result is noise at minimum...

In maxima the relay is in the rear trunk wall under the panels.

log on www.autozone.com :chiltons online crap manual is available...

Other than fuel line:
- Ign key worn (=intermittent),
- ECU does not receive pwr up signal.
- ECU does not do its job for some reason: no injection or spark.

Injectors will click as the cam sensor is turned (mark position, take off, rotate) while pwr on.
