Hi everyone,
I've got a 2002 Jackaroo with 9000 miles it has engine surges when decelerating from high speeds, fuel has gone from 16-17 mlg to 13-14 mlg and is sluggish. Motor idles and runs smooth.
I've done the egr, pvc perfect. replaced fuel pressure regulator and icv I'm out of ideas has anybody got any??

Hi mate, Yeah, it has 3 yrs or 100 k only have 3 months left i have taken it to them 6 times in the last 2 months but they keep saying that they can't find anything wrong thats why I'm seaching for answers , it seems as though I need proof ; those fuel figures are enough for me .

Just an idea about the IMG, my rodeo didn't throw a code for a couple of months after the gasket started to go bad. It ran smooth and did not hear an air noise, just some poor idle at times, usually on start up, but not always. Then one night, it got real bad, codes, stalling, eratic idle...

Hope that helps,
Marc

It got better when I had the IMG replaced. Honestly I never figured out what I was getting though.

Also, at the time I had the IMG's replaced I did the fuel and air filter, spark plugs, and cleaned the EGR and throtle body. So I did a lot of maintenance which helped. Also my tires were low on air pressure, all were about 8-10 PSI low. So I am getting better MPG now and all of this was done in early November.

Did you change your fuel and air filter. I would think about changing them, but I suspect there may be a problem with the IMG's

How many km,s mls have you got on your rodeo? What about 8 - 10 psi do you live on the beach or somthing (lol) I have mine at 38psi or about 18- 20 if we go to the beach. The fuel filter flowed freely so did,nt change it, and at 13000km,s I did,nt think that we would need to change the air filter.
I am glad to hear that there was no obvious signs on your IMG

My tires are suposed to be ay 29, they were way low, I can not believe I let them get so low. They all seem to lose air. Last week one was down to 10PSI.

Anyway on to your question. I have 73,000 miles on my Rodeo. The IMG went bad at about 69,000 miles or so, but many have had problems way before that. I am not sure it is your problem, but it is an issue with Isuzus of these years, so it is a good starting point.

Good luck,
Marc
