The rear wiper on my 04 xterra does not do a very good job at cleaning the window. I installed a winter blade and that one does not work all that well either. I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue or if this in an inhearant problem. Also, might there be an adjustment as to the tention the arm put on the wiper? Thanks...

I found that the OEM rear wiper fits the contour of the rear window better than an aftermarket wiper. Ecspecially when it come to those winter blades.

Not helpful, but I almost never use that wiper. Maybe because I have a rear tire carrier that pretty much renders the rear-view mirror useless.

Not sure about the XTerra (haven't had it long enough to replace the blades yet), but I know that on my Maxima and our Aurora and CR-V, I've been installing Bosch MicroEdge Excel blades ($9-12 at Advance or AutoZone) and they work fantastically. The ones on the Aurora lasted 20,000 skip-free miles, and the blades wipe every drop of water off the windshield. They're amazing, and cheap. Maybe a tighter "seal" with the glass (something the Bosch blades seem to have more than any other aftermarket ones I've tried) would solve your problem. Hope this helps.
