89 Cavalier RS

I got a 89 cavalier with a 2.0L I4. I want a bigger engine. But I want it to be right.

How much bigger. You could obviously swap in a 2.8 or 3.1 V6 but it's not like changing a wheel. There's also the 2.2 OHV But there wouldn't be much point in that!

whats that 3.1 V6 come out of. would i need to replace the tranny and other stuff.

it came out of the Z24 and replaced the 2.8 either 89 or 90 (I'll be told soon by someone on here!) You would need the trans fromtthe 3.1 but you could probably pick the whole thing up fairly cheap from a wreckers yard. Just look out for a low miler that has no metal filings in the oil pan and looks in pretty good condition.
