I just noticed that my 2002 xterra is leaking from the bottom. I am by no means and expert in car parts or maintenace. It is leaking from a part underneath the car that leads to the muffler/exhaust. It appears to be water. You can actually see it come out when the car is running as it spits in out. Any ideas as to what this is and how much it will cost to fix it?
Thanks,

AC condensor? Normal if it's water. Your defroster uses the AC, so even if it's winter you will have some water come out under your truck.

I once heard that the combustion process can produce as much as 1 gallon of water to 1 tankful of gas. Is the water coming out of the end of the exhaust pipe? If so, this is normal . Mine does it also. I've even seen drips of water under my car and got under there and seen it dripping out of a small weep hole in the exhaust system line. So if you see clear water spitting out of the exhaust, don't worry.

Yeah, I'd put money on normal exhaust condensation, which does increase in colder temps.

Thanks for your help everyone. I appreciate it. It is coming out from underneath the car and from the rear of the exhaust. It sounds like it is normal, but I found it odd because it has never happened before and I have had the car for almost 3 years now.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

At least you pay attention to your truck. You could be like my wife and just get in and drive!
