I have searched the net and cannot find much about code p1252, the car is a 96 VR6. One site said it’s a short to the cold start injector, but correct me if im wrong but the VR6 doesn’t have a cold start injector. Anyone know for sure what this code is for? ohh and the problem i am having is with cold starts.
Thanks, Luke

That is an obscure code.... Did you see this type of cold start issue?

What do u mean by Obscure? Im a bit of a dummy. But no my problem is different, When I go to start my car (when its cold) the car cranks over and just as its about to start it dies and have to turn the ignition back and start cranking again. It will do this several times, I have to give it a lot of gas and it will start eventually. Once it starts it runs like new!

By obscure I mean I've never encountered it & have very little info on it. The only thing I know about is the GTI cold start issue I linked to. Try posting the question here to see if they've heard of it.

a 97 vr6 doesnt have a cold start injector. Have you tried replacing you fuel filter?

No..... but the fuel filter is a good idea. When I was picking up my oil filter from the dealer I asked the guy about the code, being probably the only decent person in the dealership he asked a mechanic about it free of charge, well the mechanic said its most likely nothing just a random code the pops up and has no function. I bought a coolant temp switch for engine control (heard they frequently go out and cause cold start problems) hope that does something!
