Hey folks,
First time poster here, so go easy on me. (This site came reccomended by one of my friends)
I'm trying to figure out how to program the keyless entry remotes for a friend of mine's car. It's a 1997 QX4. I tried googling it but didn't find anything useful.
Thanks!

BTW, in GM manuals they give you an explanation on how to program a Keyless entry lock. Its there anything in the manual for this vehicle.

I don't know it's not my car, I don't have the manual to it.

I found it for my Expedition in there, but I also looked for a Mazda 626 (not mine) and it wasn't in there, but I was able to find it on the net. I guess sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't in the manual.

Yeah its called Domestics manufacturers know how to write manuals, and the idiots who write manuals for the imports don't really have a clue.

Here you go on imports again.
But Mazda is owned by Ford now, so I guess technically it's not an import.

Okay, so I got the remote and try to program it for her. I couldn't get it to work then she told me that it never came with keyless entry. :banghead:
I started thinking though in 1997 Keyless entry was probably a standard feature. But she bought it used, so I guess it's possible the original owners lost the keyless entry. Anyway I could figure this out?

Sorry that you are still having a problem! This worked just fine for my 1996 Pathfinder.
After you close the doors and lock and unlock lock and unlock and lock the doors (doors should be LOCKED now with you inside) ... and then inserting and removing the key seven times within ten seconds (leaving the key in the ignition) ... do your parking/hazard lights flash???? (they seem to flash after the sixth time in my Pathfinder)????
If they do flash and you still cannot program the remote then my only other thought is that the battery in the remote is dead. But this possibility seems "remote" to me as my remote has functioned forever and has never needed a battery.
Good luck....

No, the hazard lights didn't flash after inserting the key 7 times.
