Check Engine Light

I have a mazada Protege 92, the car stopped suddenbly on the high way, and never started again. the problem appear specially at the morning, when I stopped on the signal, or for a heavy taraffic, and try to move after that, the engin stopped, and when I try to start it again, it never start, the problem is, when I leave it for an hour or two, it starts and be fine.

I read the code for the check engine light, I found it 17 ( feed back system), what is taht mean, and what the problem might be.
