Whining/whistling from under the hood: belt, pulley or timing tensioner

I am a newby to the forums as well as Honda's. I have a 95 Passport and its a sweet car, but there is a whining noise from under the hood. I thought it maybe a belt but I tightened and greased everything and it is still happening. To the best of my knowledge, nothing has been done with the timing and the vehicle has about 110,000 miles on it. Just wanted to know what this could possibly be?

My guess it it is the bearings in the water pump or the alt or the steering pump.
I think the old stick to the ear trick might work (helps to pin point the problem).

Don'y know if your year Rodeo has a belt tension pulley, but my 98 had a whine and it was the belt tension pulley causing the noise.
