2001 S10 350 Swap

I have a 2001 S10 LS 2.2L and I want to swap in a 350. I have read alot of the articles posted on the Internet about the Engines, Transmissions, and the rear end needing an 8 1/2 inch pumpkin. I just want to know if the statement posted on one site about the best engine being "Camaro/Firebird engines, particularly those from ’88-’92 model years, since their accessories, hoses, and oil- pressure and water-temp sending units easily integrate with the S-10" is still a valid statement as it pertains to the 2001. I have not found any web sites that talk about swapping a 2.2 out with a 350 on something as new as a 2001.

That old of an engine will not mate with 2001 wiring.

This job will cost you over 4000 to do it properly.

For that $4000.00 I would imagine that you can install 1 killer turbo system, and blow that 350 powered S-10. Plus it'll still handle good.

Your stock rear end will handle more power than anyone gives them credit for. Just don't drop the clutch of it's a standard

Yea, then add on labor and accessories to make it fit.

if he does it himselfe no labor, acc, he can prolly pick up most of what he needs from a bone yard cheep, and if he gets one off e bay a lot (by a lot i mean look arrond they exist a lot more then if you try to buy a 350 from scrap yards or other people) have the externals with it

Don't make a 350 swap seem so easy, it is really quite the job.

after reading my posts i see where your commern from blazer, and to any one who read it and took it wrong im sorry, but blazer is right, its one hell of a job, and all that i ment when i started was that for around the same price as a turbo you could put a 350 in (provided you have the knowhow and tools) for approximently the same price, sorry to any one who took it like i ment it was as easy as pull out drop in and drive, ITS FAR FROM THAT EASY

Cool, yea, I just didn't wantpeople to think it is a plug and play type of deal.

just as a time fram for people, my cousin put a 350 in his 89 s 10 blazer, after the old moter (2.2l) was pulled and they had the 350 within 6 inches of being on the frame it took over 2 and a half hours to get it onto the frame, my uncle owns a garage that does moter work and my 24 year old cuz has worked there all his life, he know what hes gotta do to get something working right, and it took him and a buddy 2 and a half hours after the old one was pulled, and they are experenced machanics
