Have you installed a performance cam in your stock 2.8 or 3.1/3.4 transplant? What brand was it, what are the specs and how much did it cost? Were you happy with the results??
I'm picking a cam for my engine and I'd like to get opinions from real people. The more detail you use, the better. THANKS!!!! :)

Melling markets what they call a "torque cam" for the 60 degree V6. I used one in 3.1 in an '86 SE. It seriously improved bottom end and mid-range. The engine would still pull hard to 6,000. The part number is MTC-5. 204/214 @ .050, .420/.443 lift, 112LSA. I also added Comp Magnum rockers (1.6:1 ratio). If I had it to do over, I would retard the cam 4 degrees on installation, as bottom end is GREAT, but it would help top-end a bit more. Cloyes sells a timing set with three keyways in the crank gear, to set the cam timing.
