Whats goin on guys, i've had a problem with my 00' Impala and its heater. Whenever i get in my car and start driving weather its the early morning, middle of the day, or at night and i go to turn my heater on Settings 1,2,3,4,or 5 all i feel is cool air. The odd thing is whenever i accelerate i feel the hot air come through the vents and im not sure if its due to the cooler air pushing the hot air into the cabin or something that effect the heating system while i accelerate. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks Pat_OD

just when you start it...what about when you stop and let it idle..does it get cool again? or is it just fine...if it goes cool again at idle, your thermostat probably needs replaced....

let me know,

yea the heat will be workin fine while driven then when i start to slow to a stop at a light and the car is sitting there the air gets cool again. Today while i was on my way to work on I-95 my temp gauge when from 180 to 240 then went back down to 170 in a 1-2 min timeframe.

Well if i had that problem i would replace the thermostat, it's an inexpensive part and it's a good part to replace if you have 50-70 ,000 miles. Sounds like thermostat is stuck open and coolant can't warm up for the heat....

let me know...

head gasket :/

Aside from you changing your thermostat. It may also be your heater coil going out.
