Mk2 Golf Synchro and Rallye Q's

hi,

1st time post to the 'dub part of this board. i was wondering what engine is in the mk2 golf synchro? i know it's an 1800cc, but is it 8v or 16v? jetronic or digifant? also, is the drive train in the synchro the same as in the rallye? do either of them have a close ratio sports 'box? again, what engine was in the rallye? was it the 1.8 8v g60 engine?
