no spark

i am getting no spark from my spark plugs. i have bought new spark plugs and tried them and the still don't work. i bought a voltmeter and checked the resistance across the wires and the ignition coil, both fine i think. my only other option would be the igniter or some kind of wire problem. does anyone have any clue about this. thanks, scott.
