I am planning on getting a 2wd shoebox S-10 (~'85). I want to put 1/2 or 3/4 ton axels under it and a 350 under the hood. My question it what kind of problems am I going to run into with a leaf-spring front suspention? Is this as easy as I think it is? I know i will have to relocate the spring pirches and shock mounts, but what about any steering modifications? Also, should the shackels be in front or backof spring? Sorry so windy.

I have looked into the same, only newer s-10. The shackles should be in the back of the spring. New spring perches can be purchaced for a Jeep and used up front. The axle width is a concern unless you are using a larger rear axle with the same width in the rear as well. Then there is the lift of the springs, depending on your spring source you may need to add blocks or get lift springs in the rear
too.
