My '01 Neon's display says "Door Open" "FUSE". All doors are secure, all fuses are fine. I had to remove the dome light since it would stay on and drain the batt. Any ideas as to what the problem could be? Please help.

I'm having the exact same issue with my 2000 Neon, the display says door and flashes fuse at me when I start the car, but i tested all the fuses and they are fine. Maybe we are missing a certain fuse or something?

Straight out of a neon SM, If the cluster does not detect voltage on the courtesy lamp circuit, the message “FUSE” will alternate with the odometer/trip odometer for 30 seconds after the ignition is turned on and for 15 seconds after the vehicle is first moved. The lack of voltage can be due to the M1 Fused B(+) (IOD) fuse being open, a bad or missing courtesy lamp bulb, or a circuit problem.

I apologize in advance for being a newbie to cars etc., but what exactly is a courtesy lamp? Is that the dome light?

I got mine fixed, turns out that the person who owned the car before me yanked the dome light bulb because the door sensor was defective and the dome light wouldn't shut off. I changed out the sensor and put in a new bulb and all is good.
