Most GM vehicles use the following procedure:
Look under the dash under the radio/ashtray. There will be a 3"" rectangular electrical connector with two wires going to it. One wire is black (a ground wire) and the other is white?? (diagnostic mode enable). To enable diagnostic mode, ground the white wire - put a paper clip or wire in the connector sockets where these two wires are.
Turn the ignition on.
Watch the "service engine soon" light, it is used to flash the codes out. Count the flashes for each digit, a pause seperates each digit. Each code is repeated three times in succession until the end of the list. The code list begins with a code 12 marker. The list will repeat after the last code.
To get the meaning of the codes, then do a web search using keywords "GM Computer codes".

You wouldn't happen to know where the throttle position sensor is on that car? (93 Park Ave.)
