I have a 94 xe 4wd MT, and I dont know if this is normal but the rpms seem a bit high, in 5th going about 70mph its about 3500 or higher, is that normal or could there be a problem? the engine has always sound a bit more reved then most I have driven....if anyone could help that would be great.

Hi quantic. I have the 1994 xe, 2wd, 5 speed manual. 70 mph is apx 3300 rpm (not 3700, sorry, i was wrong), 80mph is apx 3900. Seems high to me too. I've heard 2 others with rpm in this range, and I know no one with lower rpms. I guess that's why the gas mileage is not great on these. But I love my truck. Her name is Betty.
