98 catera trunk release/fuel door buttons won't work??

Just wondering if anyone has had this problem, I can't get the damn fuel door open or the trunk. You push the buttons and there is nothing there? Checked fuses and found nothing, anyone know if these have a relay or control box? Thanks

My fuel door button died on mine but I could still release it from my key fob. Do either of your keyfobs open either?
