need ipod install help

hi all
got '03 se-r with rockford stereo and cd changer (2 seperate units, both stock in dash). I am looking to hook up my ipod without using those crappy fm-radio units, i want to hard-wire it. anybody try this yet?

few q's even if you have not that can save me time:
does the changer use RCA inputs to the head unit?
if yes - will an RCA 2 to 1 splitter (one from changer, one from ipod) work or does it take more than that.
if no - what does it use?
