Okay, about twice a week it wont start. Doesnt matter if its hot or cold. For instance, in the a.m. car always starts. The cranking is just fine, but it won't catch and fire. So, I sit in the car and try to start it every few minutes, and voila, in about a 1/2 hr. or less she starts! I know it sounds like something is hot and cools, but its not the case. I can stop and go ten times around town on a good day and have no problem! Had the ignition module replaced last week. Still doing it! This has been going on now for two months ..... some mentioned a crank sensor to me. Can anyone tell me if they have had experiences like mine with starting? Battery is brand new too. This car for the past year has taken me for quite a money ride, and I am about in tears.

Look at your ignition key. If you have a pellet in it a little ways from the key pattern, then your car is equipped with VATS or an early Gm version of PASSKEY. That pellet in your key puts out a resisitance code to your ignition cylinder. If the car sees the correct resistance during crank, it starts. if it doesnt then it shuts down the fuel causing the problem you have now. Your pump will still run but your injectors will not engage. You then have to wait 3-10 minutes for the system to reset itself.

Very common problems with this are a dirty contact on the key. Try changing keys and see what happens. Otherwise the contacts have worn out in your ignition cylinder and you may need to get that replaced.

Let me know if that solves the problem
