$450 it seems, and they must be easy to find because I see Xterras all over the place with that crappy piece of metal attached to the front.
Do a search for "brush guard damage" and see why you shouldn't buy one.

Was going to tell him not to get one since they really don't protect your X from damage by vehicles snd Deer.

Haha Thomasm. He will be off-roading. He has a 1994 Izusu Trooper, and hes going for something that will be a better base for off-roading. You guys got any good links or anything? Or would Stillen have something (I buy all of my 300ZX parts from them) Peace

Tell him to get something that works then like an ARB or Calmini Bull bar.

I would suggest searching the forums as that topic has been covered more than once. Start in the Outside Mods section.

Chuckles as Schludwiller mention an ARB or Calmini will work better just have him do a search on google or better yet check out the Izusu section of the forums

Nonono, he sold the Izusu, he was going for a better base for off-roading... So he bought a 2001 Xterra. Just in case there was some confusion there. Peace

Its all good. Hey this is off-topic here. But what kind of lights should be use? (on roof rack, or front mounted?) Peace

Lights mounted on a bullbar are easiest.
Roof mounted lights are more of a pain to mount and you can't use them legally on roads (at least where I live).
Hella lights are popular with stock bumper owners as their thin profile make it easy to mount without any mods besides a few drill holes.
IPF J01's are nice as they have both a driving and fog light included in the same light. I really like my IPF SuperRally lights as well.

Thanks for the advice man! Well my brother is buying the thing today, and he has already order front and rear brush guards, cold air intake system, and hes working on the sound system. Which one of those lights would be best for mounting on the brush guards? Thanks, peace

Me personally I would get the IPF JO1's. I've got a set in my garage waiting for me to put on my camper-van bumper. Mainly because of the fog/driver light ability in-one light. However, IPF is expensive. You also get what you pay for so.....Like I said the SuperRally's are great but they're not highway leagal. :D
Most brush guard people buy PIAA's, (because they're into looks over functionality  Sorry had to throw that in there) The PIAA's are ok, but I'm not convinced the quality level is equal to the price. The Hella's again seem a good price/value option, but I don't own a set, just know a lot of people with them. I think a few people have the Black-magic lights for the asthetic value on a black trimmed truck.
His main decision is whether to get driving or fog lights. The stock fogs in Xterras are notoriously poor, so getting another set on his brushguard would probably get the most use. However driving lights might be of more value if he drives on back roads, or areas where he needs more light up front.
I've got driving lights on my bullbar, floods up on the roof, and fogs down low (when they're working).
BTW, show your brother this picture and have him read this thread:
