Hello,

I need to replace thermostat on my 92 pathfinder V6. It looks like I can't reach it easliy. What parts need to be removed? I'll have to work on it in a parlking lot and I would be frozen in 30min here. Please tell me quickest way to replace it.

Thanks fot your help.

The bracket in front of the engine for the belt tensioner, the bolt holding the metal section of the lower radiator hose to the engine (its kind of hidden down there, accessible from underneath) and the thermostat housing bolts (3) of them. I just changed mine on my '93 and it took about 1hr. including bleeding the air out of the system. There is no gasket, so you will need some sealer. Also, I used some 3M weatherstrip adhesive to hold the T-stat in place while I re-installed the housing. Be sure the air bleed valve on the stat is in the 12:00 position, so the air can be bled out easier. One more thing, you will need a universal joint with a 10mm socket on it to access the housing bolts. Good luck, and stay as warm as possible! Hope this helps.
