Im looking at a project of putting a LS1 5 speed in a Catera. I have found that the motor mounts and pedals are available from Holden. As anyone done this yet. I have not found too much on it on the net.
Thanks, mrbob24

That would be one hell of a project.Would'nt you have to change it from front to rear wheel drive? That gonna be tough.

No,the Catera is a front wheel drive car.The new CTS,that replaced the Catera is rear wheel drive though,if thats what you were thinking of.

The Catera is Rear wheel drive, If you have the mounts and pedals, then yo should more or less be set to go.

the catera IS RWD.
and pardon me for asking, but a 5 speed? umm....for the LS1, a T5 5 speed wouldnt hold up, the only other manual transmission that i know of that you could use without buying a racing transmission which would cost big $ and be useless unless you were making ALOT of power, would be the T56 which is a 6 speed, which is what the LS1 camaros and firebirds came with. The Corvette used a different transmission, and i guess you could use that too, but that also is a 6 speed.....lol

yes, I forgot to mention the issue of the Transimssion, manual Holden V8's with LS1's use the T56 for the strength, problem is, it's an awful transmission to use in my experience with Holdens, but it's more or less your only realistic option.
