i just got a 2001 discovery II -- unfortunately the car did not come w/a owners manual... anyways... i've noticed that there is some kind of a 'killswitch' that is rigged on the keyless entry (red light on the dash)

can anyone explain how the unlock/lock/arming the alarm works?

sorry if this is a stupid question... my wife got stuck today -- it was as if the car wouldn't start... the vehicle unlocked, she put the key in, turned it and the vehicle didn't turn over... is there a specific procedure when you unlock the car to disable the alarm?

thanks!!!!

ps. anyone know what the best way to get my hands on an owner's manual is?

Nope. Not unless the key was dirty or something. Those ignition keys are coded and are separate from the rest of the alarm. Toyota has had numerious problems with them doing what just happened to you. That's probably why the car was for sale :banghead:
