I have a 1988 Pulsar NX and need help with the headlights. I can't get them to close. If I close them manually they will open when turning the lights on, but they will not close again (except manually).

I see some running around town with the headlights up...maybe they have the same problem?? Does anyone know how to correct this?
Thanks!!

if I'm thinking it's one like mines then there's a switch for the park light close to your hand brake....see if it is on or off........also there's a switch which pops the lights up and down without putting on the lights..if this switch is depressed then the light won't go down.........

My headlights do the same thing... It's been suggested that I replace the motors... I haven't fixed it yet, I need to do my waterpump first to get emissions to let me test! One headlight only works on highbeams, the other is fine. I will let you know what I find out though

a couple of things to check - check the headlight door switch above the wiper switch - it can get stuck under the trim - also a wiring diagram helps a bunch - I had to remove my passing timer (under the passenger kick panel to get mine to work right.

The Headlights do not pop up when you only switch on the parking lights - but they do NOT go down when switched from the lights on to the parking lights only. You might want to clean the headlight switch - I've had to clean it on two cars. Take it out of the cluster (one screw on the bottom. THen remove the switch from the trim piece. seperate the switch slowly and carefully as to not loose any parts. notice the condition of the rocking levers that make the electrical contact - likely they are burnt and or pitted - clean and or file till flat - check for smooth operation and reassemble. (This may also be a good time to replace the tiny indicator bulb if it is out.) Good luck!

Replacing the dash switch fixed my problem immediately, cleaning it probably would have worked too.
