98 Legacy

i just bought a 98 legacy and i can't seem to find alot of aftermarket products. so i was thinking if it would be possible to use the aftermarket products (engine and drivetrain) from the RS on my 98 legacy, since there both 2.5's. i can't see subaru making two different 2.5 for the same year cars. does anyone know?

Rallitek and Cobb Tuning carry a nice variety of aftermarket parts for the Legacys. That's where I'm doing most of my business as far as my Legacy goes. You can get quite a modification list from just using parts from those two companies. I'm not sure if there's more companies out there that specialize in Subaru Preformance parts but carry parts for anything other than the Impreza. Nopi Online also has a few parts.

does anyone know if the 2.5 is a sohc or dohc? everytime i look i get the same thing. one site said its a sohc and the other a dohc. thanks

The 98 Legacy L had a 2.2 SOHC in it. Whilst the 98 Legacy GT has a 2.5 DOHC in it
