Swap?

Ok my dad has a 98 GT legacy Wagon and he digs the AWD and wants some real power I was told that the 2.5 motor and 5spd are out of an old 2.5 rs impressa (not sure just heard) now my question is could the motor be swapped for a JDM turbo Impressa motor? Also how hard would it be a good idea is it worth it? another quick one I was told that the car has a "roll cage" in it due to the supports being so strong. Thanks max

I don't know about the engine out of an impressa, but there is a good chance you could fit the engine out an Impreza.

IIRC you need the front cross member too as the cross member for the 2.5 N/A engine is different from that on the turbo engine.

You could always tell your Dad to wait a year and get the Legacy turbo when it becomes available in 2004.

ok well if its not the impreza then he'd probbly swap that in hes just looking for some more power. And wants to get an Audi soon so i don't think he'll be getting teh new Legacy even though it is nice. Also anyone know about teh "roll cage" the dealer was teh one talking about it being in the car from the factory true or not?
