Just wondering if anyone has had smoke problems with their diamante LS within the earlier versions.. 92-96. i've seen most smoke all the time, as well as mine and i was wondering if anyone knows what is wrong with it because mechanics never can find the problem.

You're probably referring to the SOHC seals, as the SOHC is much more common and the problem is more widespread...though oil burning is generally due to the valve stem seals in any vehicle. Not to be blunt, but there just aren't as many DOHC's around to have "done lots" of them. stassia here has a DOHC, and statia will need the DOHC valve stem seal kit from NAPA or any other parts store and a few hours to do the seals. stassia, you may want to have a mechanic do the job. You'll need to take off your upper intake manifold and your valve covers at least...I can go into detail if you'd like.

Well I'm a Mitsu Tech, have been for 10 years and I have news for you all the LS's have DOHC's as well as most of the 3000's and the Montero SR. All of them from that era have the same problem. SOHC OR DOHC

Cool dude, good to hear from a genuine Mitsu tech. Sorry if I sounded like a jerk, I'm just used to dealing with a group of people who all just talk out their asses...you'd understand if you were a member of the forum at diamante.gweilo.org, which I currently recommend not joining...just a group full of asses and moderated by a big whiny sissypants named Michael Reginald Tomkins. :lol2:
