Hey guys! thanks for the warm welcome to the forum, im new , and wondering if my question may be answered.
Well there is a problem I intend to fix, I connected two home stereo speakers to the back rear speakers in the trunk and twisted the copper line around the feed into the rear speakers. (to grab power) not a good idea im sure, I tried it out, I was just curious, well , a week later, the whole system just doesnt play any sound at all. I start the car and push the on button for the radio and a error code ( it seems ) pops up on the display reading "SC 1" or "5C 1" , i know its numerical display, but im just totally confused. I tried pulling the fuse, pulling the negative clip off the battery, like trying to reset the audio box, and its just not giving me my sound. so riding in silence is kind of wierd. You guys should feel me on that one. I was wondering as if to where I can find out what either "SC 1" or "5C 1" means , and how I can go about fixing the problem. This is all I have, thank you in advance for your help.

Sorry no idea what that error code means, but it sounds like those speakers you hooked up had the wrong impedence. If they were 2 ohms for example it could easily fry the built in amp in the stock headunit. My guess is that's what happened, I'm afraid the only way to fix it (if that is indeed the problem) is to replace the headunit alltogether. Then find out the impedence on those speakers and watch what you hook them up to from now on.
