06 Chevy Cobalt Key Fob problems

My girlfriends key fob has been having issues the past month where it works sporadically on and off. I tried reprogramming it and changing the battery and it continues to work only occasionally, which is a real pain for a pregnant woman getting into a car with the alarm blaring. So I tried the backup with new battery and still nothing, checked her fuses and all seem fine. Today I went and bought a brand new one, tried to program it to the car, and it won't even program to it.

(Mind you, her original worked about twice throughout today and none of the other times) ... so I'm out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: got the new one programmed and has the same issue. Only working occasionally.

Did you buy a OEM new or aftermarket new. I have had horrible luck programming aftermarket fobs. Have your fobs tested at a GM parts counter. They have a tester that "beeps" when it sees a signal sent when the fob button is pushed. This will be done for FREE at the parts counter. At least then you'll know if your original fobs are good or not.
As stated eariler, I've run into several aftermarket fobs, brand new, that would not program. When a OEM fob was used, they programmed right away.
