ABS code 43 , and TOD code 14,24,28.

I press the Auto 4x4, in the dash the Auto light flashes when i drive for a lil bit the check light starts to flash. i can put it into 4x4 Low, seem to work fine. Would the ABS sensors affect the TOD ? When i press the Auto button i dont hear any clicking from inside the truck. not sure if i should ? i just got the truck 2 weeks ago. got it used from a friend has 180,000miles on it. Any ideas before i pay for shop labor ?

Are you sure everything works fine when you put it in 4LOW? (In LOW range and the front axle is locked?) I don't have my manual handy, but I bet at least one of the codes m is saying the front axle isn't locking. There are 2 Vacuum Switching Valves on the front axle actuator assembly, 1 to lock the axle and 1 to unlock it. The VSV's can go bad (been there), a vac line can go bad or become loose somewhere, or the wiring to the VSV's could be bad.

I put the truck up on 4 jack stands and found that the 4x4 was not working in LOW and HIGH.

So i found the front VSV's . each have a line that goes to the axle. and they both are pulling vacuum with the switch on or off .

If i leave hose #1 on and remove hose #2 , with the auto button on, it seems to be working normal . when i press the off button, i have to reconnect hose #2, and remove hose #1 to disengage the axle .

Because of this i guess both VSV's are stuck open and pulling vacuum . would this be safe to say ? Dealer wants $250 for the pair of switches . A-lot of money on a guess.
