The japanese 2002 integ TYPE Rs are sweet, running at 220+hp with navigation systems and recardo buckets. How come non of the american type r come with recardo bucket seats? Other little monsters that america is not gonna get is The Civic R (which is out in japan) and the accord euro R, which is a civic sedan sized accord with a 2.2doch vtch 220hp engine.

Get the ITR, it has much more potential right now than the RSX-S. More aftermarket available than the RSX.

uh, the Accord EuroR is the same size, dimensions, and styling as the USDM Accord sedan.

all the other accords in Japan's lineup are a different design and styling... i've seen, sat, and touched both designs.

I'd get the RSX S, and plan for the future. In five to ten years, think which platform (both chassis as well as engine) will have more options. This scenario creates a landslide decision in favor of the RSX S. If you only want this car short term and want to kill it with mods now, should you get the ITR.

I would go Rsx-S too because I'm not to crazy about speed. I'm more into show than go. Rsx-S has a decent amount of speed and I'm rather happy with it. I am pretty sure later on the futre, Rsx-S will have more mods than the ITR.

CWITR is the only way to go....pretty soon, there is going to be as many RSXs as there are Civics...CWITR will be no more and are rare to begin with

Hey Mike,

I thought you would have got a replacement by now. I still say get the type R. It's CYC00Q by the way, I've changed my nic. :)

More reason to get the RSX S, at least in a couple years: The RSX, as most of you know, uses the new reverse rotation, i-VTEC, K series engines (K20A for base RSX, K20C for RSX Type S models). The new Honda CR-V uses an i-VTEC 2.4-liter engine making 160 horsepower and 162 ft-lbs. of torque. Assuming this CR-V engine is also K series (in all likelihood it is, though I don't know for sure), and as long as Honda continues their tradition of keeping same-family engine components compatible and interchangeable, this could make for some nasty engine combinations. Oh, I also forgot to mention that the compression of the CR-V engine is only 9.6:1!! The RSX S uses an 11:1 CR. Imagine the power you can make if you use even stock components, with a CR-V bottom end, an RSX S head (or RSX Type R head once we get it), and you keep your combustion space small enough to preserve the 11:1 CR??

P.S. One other bonus of the new CR-V engine: unlike the previous CR-V engine, the B20, which was like a B18B with larger bores (the 81 mm bore was opened up to 84 mm) but the same stroke, this CR-V engine only opens the bore up from 86 mm of the RSX to 87 mm, while increasing the stroke. As long as the taller deck can fit under the RSX hood, which I think and hope should (one benefit of the RSX's increased height over the Integra is the larger vertical clearance underhood.. and keep in mind that with the reverse rotation layout, the oilpan no longer needs to preserve enough space for the header to pass underneath it, freeing up even more space!), in a couple years, these could be easy (and I mean easy easy easy) 250 bhp hybrids :sun:

Very interesting read JD@af. I never thought of the RSX/CR-V connection. I am interested to see if you are correct. I guess we just need to wait and see...Unless one of you has an RSX you are willing to donate to science
