I was going down the hwy here a couple months ago and I had a deer run into the driver front fender. I was going 70-75 mph. It busted the fender, door, messed up the headlight assembly. The damn deer done $4,800 worth of damage. This is a 99 firebird, 2-door coupe with t-tops. Well the deers neck stretched across the hood and cracked the windshield. A friend up in town gave me a estimate to fix the car at a reasonable cheap price. He called a place to come and install a new windshield. Well 2 months after I have the car back my wife notices the dash is cracked it the lower passenger corner about 3 inches. I know for a fact it was not before I took the car to the body shop. The guy that replaced the windshield says it was and will not do anything. So my point is above the radio there is 2 air vents. Above the vents the dash looks like it seperates from the rest of the dash across both ways. Can I just pop the very back piece out and buy another one somewhere or do I have to replace the whole dang thing. I have looked at it and i think it seperates from the main dash. Looks like it is seperate from it. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. I am in enough crap cause this is my wifes car. she bought it new it 99 for $28,000. There was not a thing wrong with it nor had anything been done to it before all this. I am in trouble. Help me please

I think you do have to remove the front half of the dashboard to get to the half that has those vents. But is the piece that is broken missing a piece? If not why not just glue together with silicon. Oh, if you are taking it apart, be careful not to break either the clips that hold the front half, and the piece you are replacing/fixing, because they do dry up. I craked my dashboard because I pulled it to hard. Good luck.

Thanks for talking with me on this. The part of dash i am talking about is on the top all the way back where the bottom of the windshield sets. That piece goes just about for all of the top of the dash. It looks like it is seperate from the vents piece is what i am saying. The piece that has the vents and all that comes up on top about 2 inches or so. This piece is behind that. It runs the length of the full dash , with the defrost vent in it. I popped up the front part and it has a clip there. The security light is in it also. Im not for sure if its all that easy though. Dont wont to tare up anything. The piece that is broke can not be glued because it is split in 3-4 ways and a piece is busted out of the middle. Tomorrow I will take a picture and post on here so you can see what exactly I am talking about. Thanks for the help again.
