i just got rid of my 88 civic 4 dr in favor of a 95 honda civic ex, the only thing is its an automatic tranny, do they make v-tec for autos or only manuals, what kind of performance mods are good to make to an automatic :D

yea...the tranny doesn't effect if its a VTEC motor or not. but its the SOHC motor, so it really doesn't make that big of a difference overall. if its an auto...an u wanna go fast, i mite say to consider a different car, simply because auto vic's are VERY slow, an ur going to have to upgrade the tranny to have it hold any type of power.

if u want to keep the car nos seems to work fairly well with automatics
but you will want to get a torque converter that has a good stall speed
fuel pressure gauge & regulator and retard the timing!!!:D

auto civ ain't that bad. I got one an its not a rocket, but it moves good. If you are looking for a fast car tho, get rid of the civic. It takes hella work to make a civic fast. If you got the money tho, I suggest buying a level10 auto tranny if you like auto's. I hear they can handle the power plus they shift faster than any human. Of course I/H/E should be your first speed mods and you can put those on even on auto. I got I/E still looking to get the header, but works great on my auto. U want serious speed on a civic tho, gotta change the tranny.
