I was wondering what kinda of a car you would prefer to build and drive.....
The choices are:
1. Sleeper- Rolling on steelies with out any visible signs of engine modifications besides maybe a muffler....(but has an engine swap)
2. Real Clean- Fast and the Furious look, very cleanly done interior with huge rims, nice paint job, body kit, w/ at least basic engine mods (intake, header, exhaust, etc.)
3. Rice look- Extremely huge aluminum spoilers, chrome hub cabs, wal-mart tint, no other modification to the car except an exhaust especially automatics with fucking loud ast exhausts, stickers and decals done w/ poor taste....etc.
4. Don't really care...Im just happy to drive the F*ck outta what I got!

You consider the chrome rims, giant touring wings, ugly graffix, fire shooting mufflers, and all that shit in Fast and Furious to be clean? I think that is rice to the fullest. JDM and the "JDM Style" is clean and functional in my opinion.
I like a clean car. It can look fixed up as long as it isn't with flashy washer leds and chrome of any kind.

as long as your willing to spend the money on something that you like, dont care what other people are going to say, personaly i would put one of those giant shopping cart wings on my car, but it wouldnt look right, but thats the style I like. And i tell everyone, it doesnt matter what kind of car you drive, what matters is what you do to it to make it different. But thats just my opinion:finger:

I totaly agree with you that JDM style isn't worth shit, in here you can buy that shit and it's stock, there aren't many of those SiRs in here but I don't see any perfection when you do a SiR conversion :(
I must admit that some of those guys in USA that want a JDM look or something like that stock scene are pretty anoying and with that shit "I've got a JDM parts on", "oh shit really" you must be the coolest guy arround with stock parts-yuck I hate stock parts....
So my opinion is the best look is orginal look and that is doing something by your self and that you like it cause you did it and it's unique not cause now it's cool to have JDM look!
I love those things that are unique and that gives your car special look so you can put your sign on the back of the car instead of CIVIC SiR, in one word you made your self your own car!

I am with Mellow. I like my ride. Like he said, no bodykits, fancy lights, and stickers. I keep my ride clean, yet unique. I do like the JDM stuff, but it is on the expensive side. :(

Well i looks and speed so as i build my car i am going to be giving it show and go not in to the big wings and stuff but a well exectued body kit and paint job just turns my fancy. I don't think becuase you want you car to be differant from the croud that make you rice and that what alot of people in here seem to think. I don't like the stock look! its borring. and to all those people who spent money on all that JDM stuff your guys cars look great but its still pretty much just stock. But i really like all cars stock or modified so do waht you want and be happy with it you are the only one that counts;)

what i like to do is put on my racing helmet, then i pull up to a red light and right before im at a complete stop i lock up the brakes. (this makes your helmet jerk a lil bit and also serves to get the attention of the ppl next to you) now i look at them, then back straight, they will be staring for a while, then when i see green i gooooooooo

Im sure most of you have seen the 10 Sec Chrystler minivan... How would you like to roll around town in it and tear back corvets? I dun know about you guys, but that could verry well be the most fun of my lifetime looking @ the expresions! Go over show anyday... Go first, show later. Im goin for a nice new body kit (there was a WW bumper on my car whan I got it) AFTER I finish my engine. Pluss around here, folks wanna look under the hood and see bling bling... Dont mater what ur shit looks like.

I mean i have both, my car is for shows, but i also have the GO to back it up. When im out hanging with my friends and talking cars, and someone pulls up in a beater POS and lifts the hood to show his 3000 motor wiht a 2000 turbo that can pull 9's.... yeah its impressive but the car is a pile of shit. And i get 10:1 comments about how nice my car looks over how fast it is and what engine i have.

Well I am one for a clean car. I don't care if they are show, but they have to have some go to go with the show. I am going for the sleeper look on my civic just because I don't have enough funds to do both. I would love a nice clean car with some rims and all, but I can't afford it. Everyone has different tastes and that's just how it is. No matter what you like someone will always like somethin diferent. As long as the car is clean I like it, but that's just me.

Its a JDM CRX stock front bumper with an aftermarket lip, that it, and it looks soooo nice, thats why i wanna do it on a HATCH because i like the CRX bumpers better than the hatch bumpers.....

My ideal ride is a 4th gen hatch in the same colour as Walt00023's with 17" crome rims, Full WW Kit, Huge Ice, and a B18 in it. interior out of my old D16a9 maybe a few stickers down the door like Mike has on his 5th gen :D

any car that has tons of money spent on the looks of it should at its slowest pull 14s. theres no point in making the thing look like a million bucks if its slow. because even bentleys and rolls royces can pull those times, and they weigh a shitload with all their pointless stuff.
my opinion, take the lightest EF you can get, and rewrap everything in the interior, then do some custom bodywork like shaving and a taillight conversion. finally get the suspension tight, and make that motor pull 14s or better. im not picky about the engine, as long as its clean and can move that car.
and the only JDM parts that are worth a damn are ones that are an improvement over the USDM counterpart. like the engines, suspension, brakes, spoilers, lips, hoods, stuff like that.

I completely 100% disagree that nice looking cars have to be fast. I got my car kitted and such and i think it looks pretty damn good, and now im working on the engine, hopefully ill have it in a few months. But you know wat? Never once since i've had my car have i had ppl critisize on my car being slow, but b4 the kit, ppl made fun of my car all the time. Honestly, the crx really needs a kit, that 2 tone plastic shiznit action is really not attractive, which is y they dont have it now. Hondas weren't meant to be the greatest race cars, if they were they wouldnt run 17's stock. So honestly, the car needs style and speed, but Im not as worried about speed becuz once i get my $5000 paint job im not gonna be wanting to race my car on the highways and such risking chipped paint or an accident. I dont know if this made since, i could just be rambling, i dont know. But yeah.....i dont think i even have a point, u figure it out for me plz.

i didnt vote for sleeper because i dont want everyone to make there cars sleepers cuz i dont want it to be too common because that what im going for on my car hehe, reverse psychology there

all i meant by it was that a lot of times people try to make a car look like something it is not. like making a CRX look like a ferrari, but not even coming close to speeds a ferrari goes, that stuff is dumb. its lying to yourself, its lying to everyone else, and worst of all, its lying to the car. lamborghini kits cars based on a fiero would have to be the biggest waste of money. im not saying that everyone should focus their money and attention on the engine, but they should at least be able to hold their own...
here in lousiana we have a car show called Import Face Off, and they have a Show and Go challenge. the cars are judged just like any other show car. but then afterwards, they all race on the drag track, without taking anything off or switching tires or anything. and then they get more points depending on how well they do on the track. this way, it shows you have an all around awesome car.

and to anyone saying big wings, chrome wings and f&f style is clean are just ricers with more money...... i look at it this way, there are two types of ricers. wannabe ricer and ricers. wannabe ricers have crome wiper blades, frims, and yellow window banners...... real ricer have god aweful body kits, 19" crome rims, fender flares, and an intake

For me, I think to each his own. A lot of people in my town dawg on me because I have a 4 door, but you know what...I'm starting to not care anymore. I used to care so much, and I used to think that I wantedt o get an eclipse for the longest time, but I realized that I wanted to do so only because I thought that would make me the coolest. Well fuck all of that, I'm keepin my 4 door if I keep my license, and I'm goin to drop a b16 in, and do it my way. I've been razzed on here a bit about overspray from my interior work, and at first it killed me. I feel like you guys are my family now, (I know I know, *tear* but seriously) and I respect you guys. I value all of your opinions and love talkin to you all. For the first time in my life, I actually feel welcome and like I fit in somewhat. I hope that continues. Anyways, I got off subject for a minute. I am going to mod my car because I think its cool. I think that show and go need to be balanced, however, if someone wants all show, or all go, its up to them. Some people are perfectly content with a gutless show car, others are happy with a rusted beast that runs 13's, while still others wont be content until they run 10's and have a showy look. I figure its up to the cars owner, and whos to say whats cool for them? We all see things differently, and just because one person wants one thing, and I want another, it doesnt make one of us any cooler than the other. I say do whatever you want to your car, and Im gonna do the same, just dont get mad when all you can see are my eyes squinted from smiling in my rear view.

and my fav. quote is, "everyone talks about being different, so in a way they are just like everyone else, so they are not different at all" or something like that, but i think now that the sleeper look is starting to get played because people who don't have anyting done to their rides are saying that they're are goin for the sleeper look, or if they don't have paint, they say i'm goin for the sleeper look,(when they could just say that paint isn't a priority for them right now) the thing i hate most about the sleeper people is when it sayd sleepr, or trbodcivc, or something like that, so imo sleepers are not sleepers because they are the ones i look out for the most. and i'll be quick to race a crx with a bodykit and wing because i know it most likly won't be fast, and also about the altezza's, the full red or red/clear taillights are more played here than tezza's and serve no function so it must be rice right?? if that statement holds true then most of ya'll with the "mugen" valve cover are ricers, and people with painted interiors are ricers, so i think that the people with the big wing's and flashy paint have nice cars, UNLESS, the wing is the only thing he's got/ or he's a complete dumbass, it's the person who is the ricer, not the car.

That would be fine but in experience I have never seen that happen. Any car giving the show looks is always looking for a go....no matter how little under the hood.
honestly.... does anyone really want a car that would look that outstanding, and still have very little performance. Pick any performance car that looks great....viper, supra...a good deal of the respect from the car is having something to back up the looks. Would anyone give a rats ass about a viper if it had a stock 4 cylinder engine that produced 120 hp? Everytime you would come to the line and get spanked, I would think after a while you would have to do somethign about it and either upgrade or get a different car with a pair....no matter how much of a head turner the car is
