Latest pics from the new project...the BOZZ Speed EVO7. The kit has been primmed and body has had 3 coats of Tamiya Pure White sprayed on today.
So far the kit is going well. The moldings are the same as the Yellow EVO i have already done.
Most other parts are painted, just detailing to be added to them and then to the body.
Usual updates and pics to come for those intrested......hope i dont "bore" you all here with them (probably getting sick of seeing my work by now !!!!)

You know right? the bozz speed evo 6 is WAY fater than the 7, and is more desirable (in my opinion) the the 7, the 7 is a stree car while the bozz evo 6 is a fire breathing mclaren hunter:devil:

Is this kit any different than the other fujimi Lancers? Besides the decals, are there any interior differences or body differences?

There's no differance...easy way for Fujimi to mass produce there kits and just throw in different decals or wheels.

Well, now that you mention it... ;)
Actually, I would prefer it if you posted your work more often...

Love your work...never quit posting it. :D
However it would be nice to see a couple older lancers from you, personally I haven't liked the body style since they deep sixed the large round foglights. Gimme an Evo 4 or 5 over a 6 or 7 any day. I can always drop other components into it to make it faster than a 7, hehe.

I like it so far! Question:
Do you use only Tamiya Paint? Is this stuff that good or is it your only choice of paint where you are at? I use a bunch of different brands including Tamiya, but I don't use Tamiya paint for my bodies, I use mostly House of Kolor Auto Lacquers or Testors Model Master paints.

Tamiya spray bombs are THAT good. Why not drop by Phil's Hobbies (in Farmer's Branch,TX) and buy a can. Bet you'll love it as much as Black Gold's stuff!

p.s. I've got a line on some pre-mixed, 2 oz. bottles of PPG automotive clear if you're interested...

I'm pretty sure it is...and it also includes the reducer and hardener. Something like $20.00 for 2 oz of prethinned clear and 1 oz each of hardner and reducer. I'll post the info from home. This is for US residents only!

p.s. DL, any answers to the Duplicolor primer/sealer ?'s I asked?

Well if you're going to BG, Phil's wouldn't be that far outta the way for you. They also do mail-order! I can't recall if HT carries the Tamiya sparcans or not, but if they do, try it. 3 thin coats and then 1 nice, wet one...
Remember that if you're gonna use the Tamiya clear (TS-13 I think?!?) either do it 30 minutes after the last color coat or wait 2 weeks. They don't dry at the same speed and you'll end up with cracks/crazing if you don't follow the directions.
And oh yes, HOK from BG is "da bomb"! and the flip-flops can look really great, or just plain weird depending!

bvia- Primer sealer overall is pretty good (and cheap!). It goes on very thin (after 3 coats or so, a few passes with a 600 grit sandpaper) will take you to the plastic. I'd say it dries a bit rougher than Mr. Surfacer 1000 or Tamiya Fine surface primer, but smoother than regular Duplicolor Primer or Plastikote Primer. I don't think the instructions recommend sanding it anyway.

How did I miss this thread?:confused: I always miss the good stuff........... I know your famous P-Man panel lines will really bring that car out. I got one question, how long do you wait after painting the car, to apply the panel lines?? I painted one of my civic's white, and when I did the panel lines, the excess wouldn't rub off............

No Worries. :)
Honoturtle.....i wait about 7-10 days before doing all the detail work like lights/windows and lines. The excess should polish out with some compound if you get it on other places.
sugarcaddy.....It is the best i have used. I get the best results as i find the air/paint flow to be perfect for me. Other i tried i got runs and orange peel no matter how hard i tried

Update.
Kit is comimg along well. Got 99% of the body done with the detailing of widow rubbers and Panel lines done. :finger:
Has been cut and polished and tomorrow will be the start of the decals which i'm looking forward to see how they turn out.
Body turned are pretty well. White is always hard to bring out a good deep gloss, but after a good rub it looks OK. The lines in the roof had to be cut back out and re-groved on the drivers side as the mold was very poor. After sanding out all the molding lines on the roof it almost dissappeared in places:mad: ...so quite abit of time was spent trying to get them right again.
Rest of the kit is all painted and just needs to be assembled together with the odd little touch up here and there.
Pic of the finished body before decals.

Today was the start of the decals. Got most of them done apart from the main side ones. Have found out that the windows need to be fitted so that part of the main decal can go onto part of the back window.
So today was also spent masking and painting the windows.
Decals have gone on really well, have got away with out using any solution on them. They are very thin and just seem to set down so well.
Here's a pic after today's effort

sorry if this is a bit off topic but i was reading about people talking about using 2 pack automotive paints, just thought i would put a little warning out there for anyone who is not familiar witht them, they are incedibly dangerous to use, and actualy contain a form of cyanide, ever wondered why pro paint shops use positive pressure spray hoods and cover head to toe! that stuff is nasty nasty stuff, you need specialist respirators and it can make u very ill and kill u if u breathe it in, also can get ill if it comes in contact with your skin and eyes, sorry to sound like a depressive maniac but i had a friend who nearly died from that crap when he sprayed his bike in it in his garage! just be careful guys:devil:
