I accidentally dropped a small piece of metal inside the spark plug hole (the one next to the steering). How can I get the piece out???
I tried a magnet but it's damn hard. Any one has a diagram of the tubing?? help!!!!!!

Whooo! Ain't that about a bi+ch! That sucks. Have you tried using one of those telescoping magnets, or was it just a regular magnet of some sort?

It might make things easier to remove your valve cover.

The valve cover is easy enough to get off, and a telescoping metal thing would be good. But if you take out the spark plug isn't that a direct opening into the cylinder. Sounds like bad news.

I took off the valve cover but I can't still see anything. I think the hole should be straight, but I tried bending the magnet left/right & I think the tubing does curve. Any of you know where does the tube leads????
Man, this is bad, I gotta take that piece out, help, help, help!!!

I don't think the tubing curves. I think rather the spark plug is at an angle above the cylinder chamber and the valves would be on the sides. Perhaps you can manually turn the cam gear and make the cylinder come up as high as it can so you can get to the thing inside easier, but that would be very hard.

can you show me a pic or a drawing? Im not good with engines yet, Im still learning.
Do I have to pull the head out & how? Do I need to put a new head gasket if I do it?

I have no idea where I would get drawings from...

Okay, here's a pic. The red arrow is where the spark plug goes. The blue arrow is the valves, and the big black blob is whatever you dropped in there. It should be pretty easy, especially if you manually turn the crank to bring the piston up to top dead center. Hope it helps:

Edit: another thought... It could be that whatever you dropped in there might not be magnetic... I don't know what it is, but it's a possibility...

did you try the telescoping magnet yet? Those things are lifesavers, I kept dropping the screwes when I was putting in my clears into the bumper, and that got it out with a quickness. Hope you get that shit out of your engine!

Thanks ci5ic, Thats big help!! :)
The piece is magnetic cuz I have extras & they stick to the magnet.

My bad, I take it back. The metal piece doesn't stick a whole lot. Its magnetic but how would I get out something that is not really so magnetic? & again, how do you turn the crank?
I appreciate your help...
