Steve is working on The Escort Kit Car in Valvoline colours, a transkit using Resin parts and after market decals.
Hopefully this will be finished soon....

These are two of the DTM Mercs....
The 'Sonax Polish' car finished in a great flip black/green paint, just like the real race car.

Of course guys, of course!!!

I have sent him the link to this thread, so he should be on here later! Providing he can get away from GT3!
I left it at his house so Iwouldn't play it all day here!

Just to say hello to everyone, these are my models that Guiddy has posted pics of on here.
Guiddy, you got the year wrong! The early set of rally cars were all from the 1994 Monte, ( Anorak on) Subaru only debuted the Impreza in the 1993 1000 Lakes Rally, still using the Legacy in '93 (Anorak off).
I've only just looked at this site, couldn't tear myself away from GT3. I must get that Escort WRC finished, I'm sure Dan will post some piccies when it's done. Then I'll think what to do next, maybe some Le Mans cars, anyone know of any decent 1/24 kits other than the ones Tamiya do?
Must go now, back to GT3.

Steve ;)

Steve ;)

Sorry bud, I was a bit bleary eyed this morning and the Anorak was well and truly off! It has been too long away from Rallying, I am losing all my knowledge!
I'll be calling Didier 'Dufer Auriol' at this rate!

How are you getting on with GT3? I am finding the time away from it beneficial, so you should have it for a few more evenings yet!:p

The only ones I think of off hand are from Modelers, most are resin and expensive. Modelers made a kit for the first GT-One, the stripey one.

I checked on the Modeler's kits and all the LM ones are out of production. :( They were pretty nice though. Good luck.

I know of a certain Estonian who got a works drive this year. They don't take him to all the races, though :( But he's fast!

Im' totally new to modelling, so brace yourselves...

How do I get one of these magnificent car models? I don't have the skill/time/attentionspan to put on together myself, but I'd really love to have a model rally car (specifically a Lancer Evo V or VI). Die cast would be cool. The important thing is price. Can SS2k or Guiddy help me out here. Many thanks...

If you dont have the time etc you will be better off getting a die-cast model.
But buy a kit and have a go at doing one. Get a nice simple one that is easy to do and have a go. Tamiya would be your best bet to get.
Nothing is better then seeing something you buy as bits turn into something that you built yourself.

thanks primera man for your swift response. I think i'll try the zexel skyline. Where can I go for diecasts tho (btw, it appears tamiya doesn't have lancers!) :(

Where can I go for diecasts tho (btw, it appears tamiya doesn't have lancers!) :( Oh, they do, both in road and rally versions. They didn't come out lately, so you may have to look a bit, but they're out there. Try searching Hobby Link Japan (www.hlj.com). Thay have a great selection, but they're in Japan, so shipping can cost a bit. But, in any case, their catalog will give you a good idea what's out there. Don't forget to look on ebay, too. :)

Good luck! Let us know what you pick, and browse around for our more common tips. Definately chack out Guiddy's write up about the new Tamiya WRX in this forum. Step by step, it's very nice.

And of course, don't hesitate to ask if you have questions. :D
