My new favorite website(s)

I could spend hours looking at the "arial photos" from MapQuest.com and GlobeXplorer.com. The U.S. photos are super-detailed in some areas. You can zoom in to a single house's roof. You know the government uses this to spy on each and every one of us. :uhoh:

Since, I'm bored, I'm going in for a look, maybe I'll get some Under Siege 2 Action.

Sounds cool, which is the best of the two sites?

They're in cahoots. They uses each other's maps. MapQuest.com is easier to navigate and use and GlobeXplorer.com is the one where you can zoom waaaaaaaaay in. :D

I just found that out. lol They are practically the same.

I'm zooming into the Hollywood hills to see whos house I can find...

Damn, thats pretty cool. I can zoom right on the AFB out here. Thats not good to know. I though there were laws against something like that. :) Beats me, pretty cool though.

Some maps are old and incomplete. We were zooming in on my co-worker's house, and it wasn't built yet. The houses around the corner were under construction. The next neighborhood over was blacked out.

Also, pictures from different scales can be different, too. You can mostly see this with stuff that's under construction.

The closest I can zoom in to my house is about a 2-3 square mile section of drawn map. :(

Yeah, lots of sections are missing. Try zooming in on New Zealand. :( I can zoom right in to the roof of my office, but I can't get very close to my home.
