well ive been doing some shoping for an s13 and i found this one very cheap but its been smashed pretty bad. how much work would be involved in repairing this car??? would it be too much trouble or would it be worth it?
and with the rear quater panel will that just bolt off i got told you have to grind it off, i figured that it would bolt off from all the sil80 threads.
needs a new diff, auto gearbox, seats, radiator and minor damage to the front engine but still starts.

well if ut a mechanic why dont you ask yourself...
doesnt look worth it to me, but if you think you can. Looks like it would have frame damage out the ass tho. and auto! Boo

well ive only been workng as a mechanic for about a month now so i dont really know costs and all that i get told what to do and do it. im thinking get a gearbox (convert to manual of course) get a radiator and diff put em in then buy some seats a door and rear quarter panel put em on i can leave the front bar off for a while get some lights and windows. probably cost about 4k aud plus 1k for the car plus the minor engine damage approx $500 so probably end up paying somewhere from 4-6k or pay 6-7k for a s13 with no damage in good condition with about 80k miles and service history. so im thinking keep on saving for 1 that hasnt been smashed.

So you can spend 7k fixing up a smashed up car or spend it upfront on a nice one.

yea but this only has 60k miles and for 7k you would probably get 1 for 90-100k miles bu i think ill pass on this 1.

dude.. the car is TRASH the owner should give it to you for free... u just have to tow it away!
NO..DO NOT fix up a car that is totaled?! why? its unnecessary work.. if u can't afford buying the car STOCK.. then don't even bother with fixing it up.
Ps it is different if he car had a bad motor or something that u can as a mechanic fix. but a totally damaged car.. hell no! do u have a FRAME pulling machine and a body shop waiting for ur orders?!

yea thanks for the advice guys thats what my dad said frames probably bent pretty bad and it will take ages to fix up so just save an extra 1k or so and buy one thats in good condition. and i think thats what i will do.
